Start with the PBC list
Ask your auditors for their "prepared by client" (PBC) list early, assign an owner to every item and agree delivery dates. Track it weekly in the run-up to year-end.
The checklist
- Trial balance and all balance sheet reconciliations, with supporting documents
- Bank confirmations and bank reconciliations
- Fixed asset register, additions, disposals and depreciation schedules
- Inventory count instructions, count results and valuation workings
- Receivables and payables ageing, with explanations for old items
- Revenue contracts, significant agreements, leases and loan documents
- Board minutes, related party list and subsequent events review
- Tax computations and provisions
Judgements and estimates
Write short memos on key judgements and estimates, such as provisions, impairment, revenue recognition and going concern, before fieldwork starts. It saves days of back-and-forth.
How we help
Our team prepares reconciliations, schedules and draft financial statements to audit-ready standard, and can coordinate directly with your auditors throughout fieldwork.
