Hypercare
Hypercare is the period right after go-live when the project team stays close to users. Hold a short daily call to review issues, fix the urgent ones quickly and track the rest. Most issues in the first weeks are about master data, authorisations and how to use the new screens, not the system itself.
The first close
The first month-end close in a new ERP always takes longer. Plan for it: agree the close calendar in advance, have experienced people on hand and reconcile key accounts carefully. Each close after that should get faster.
Controls
- Review user roles so nobody can both create a vendor and pay it, or post and approve the same journal.
- Turn on approval workflows for payments, journals and purchase orders.
- Keep evidence of reviews and reconciliations, which makes audits and SOX testing much easier.
Reporting
A new ERP is a chance to fix reporting. SAP Fiori apps give real-time views for finance users, SAP Analytics Cloud adds planning and dashboards, and Power BI works well on top of Dynamics, Odoo and QuickBooks. Start with a small set of reports leadership actually uses, then expand.
How we help
We support clients through hypercare and the first closes, review roles and controls, and build management reporting and dashboards on top of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo and QuickBooks.
