Start with requirements
Before looking at software, write down what the business needs: number of entities and currencies, inventory and manufacturing, project accounting, consolidation, tax and statutory reporting, and how many users will need access. These requirements quickly narrow the field.
Where each ERP usually fits
- QuickBooks Online and Xero: small businesses that need solid bookkeeping, invoicing, bank feeds and simple reporting.
- Odoo: modular and flexible, popular with SMEs that want accounting, inventory, sales and HR in one platform.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: growing companies, especially those already using Microsoft 365 and Power BI.
- SAP Business ByDesign: cloud ERP for mid-sized companies and for subsidiaries of larger groups.
- SAP S/4HANA and Dynamics 365 Finance: large, multi-country groups with complex processes and heavy reporting needs.
Look at the total cost
Licence or subscription fees are only part of the cost. Add implementation, data migration, integrations, training and ongoing support, and compare the total over about five years. A cheaper system that needs heavy customisation can end up costing more.
How we help
We help you define requirements, compare options objectively and implement the chosen ERP: QuickBooks, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP Business ByDesign or SAP S/4HANA, with the finance setup, migration and training done properly.
